Sand and Gravel Quarry proposal

W & J Parker have put forward a planning proposal to extract approximately one million tonnes of sand and gravel from their site at Lodge Farm on the A6 near Loughborough. A scoping request will determine whether an Environmental Impact Assessment is necessary and this is being considered by Leicestershire County Council and Charnwood Borough Council.

The site comprises of mainly flat lying agricultural land and the proposal includes a sympathetic restoration of the 80 acre site after the quarrying operation has been concluded.
